Study MBBS at Andijan State Medical Institute
Andijan, Uzbekistan · 1955 · 6-Year English-Medium General Medicine
Quick Overview
Andijan State Medical Institute is a state institute teaching medicine since 1955 — the Fergana Valley's original medical school, by its own history. Its own news pages count more than 1,300 foreign students, nearly 1,000 of them Indian. The 6-year General Medicine programme runs in Uzbek, Russian and English, graduates have been ECFMG-eligible since 1957 per WDOMS, and ECAQA re-accredited the programme in December 2024. The institute publishes no tuition figure — we obtain the written quote rather than repeat agent numbers. Listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools; NMC approves no foreign university.
About Andijan State Medical Institute
Andijan State Medical Institute opened in 1955 as, by its own history page, the only medical higher-education institution in the Fergana Valley — Uzbekistan's most populous region. Seventy years on it is a full-scale state medical school: its English pages break the Faculty of Medicine down to 5,751 students (1,327 on state grants, 4,424 fee-paying), with a further 2,074 in Pediatrics and 766 in Pharmacy, plus a Dentistry faculty. WDOMS lists it as "Andizhan State Medical Institute" (FAIMER ID F0001023), a government institute teaching since 1955.
For Indian students the load-bearing fact is the cohort already there. In its own news item of April 2026 the institute counts over 1,300 foreign students, of whom nearly 1,000 are from India. The General Medicine programme awards the "Vrach" (physician) qualification after 6 years — it was a 7-year course before 2017 — taught in Uzbek, Russian and English, with an entrance exam required per WDOMS. A separate 5-year Doctor of Medicine track for non-citizens has run since 2020. ECAQA, the WFME-recognised Kazakh agency, re-accredited General Medicine for 5 years on 2 December 2024, and WDOMS's ECFMG note records eligibility for graduation years 1957 to current — the longest window on this roster — alongside the Intealth Recognized Accreditation Policy and the Canada acceptability note.
Two things the institute does not publish, said plainly. First, its tuition: the live site has no fee page, and the old site's fee pages were empty in every archive snapshot from 2020 to 2026, so any specific figure you see quoted online is an agent's number, not the institute's — we obtain the current quote in writing instead. Second, we hold no compiled NBEMS FMGE record for Andijan: our dataset tracks the institutions with the largest historical candidate counts, and Andijan's big Indian cohorts are recent — their exam years are still ahead. That is a statement about the data, not a verdict on the institute.
Andijan State Medical Institute is one of the two institutes on our Uzbekistan roster — see the full MBBS in Uzbekistan guide for the country-level picture, including why the other well-known names are not on this roster.

MBBS Fee Structure - As Published by the University
This university publishes no fee — here is what that means for you.
Tuition: not published by the university
Andijan State Medical Institute publishes no tuition figure — and we looked hard. The rebuilt adti.uz site has no fee page at all, and the old site's dedicated fee pages ("Xorijiy talabalar uchun to'lov kantrakt miqdori", "Tuition and living fee") were empty in every archived snapshot we checked from 2020 through 2026: a title, no numbers. No figure could be verified in any currency for any year, so we quote none. A.J Trust obtains the institute's current written quote before you commit to anything.
Accommodation: The current adti.uz site publishes no hostel information or price. The pre-2026 version of the institute's own site described three student dormitories with a reading hall, internet room and sports hall — so dormitories exist — but treat the details as historical until the institute republishes them. We confirm current availability and cost directly.
Note: Fees can change by academic year and are set by the university, not by us. Always confirm the current figures with A.J Trust before making any payment.

No compiled NBEMS record on this page
Our compiled dataset tracks the institutions with the largest historical candidate counts, and Andijan is not one of them yet: the full NBEMS extraction shows a single tiny row so far — 0 of 4 passed in 2024, far too small to mean anything. The institute's large Indian cohorts are recent, so the meaningful record builds over the coming reports. Check the NBEMS institute-wise reports directly — every year is linked from our FMGE hub.

Andijan - City at a Glance
City
Andijan
Region
Fergana Valley
Country
Uzbekistan
Andijan is one of the principal cities of the Fergana Valley, in Uzbekistan's far east. The institute has anchored medical education here since 1955 — by its own history, it was the only medical higher-education institution in the whole valley at the time. For Indian students the city's defining feature today is the community itself: the institute's own news pages count more than 1,300 foreign students, nearly 1,000 of them from India, which means arriving students land into an established Indian ecosystem rather than building one from scratch.
